Conscious Friday: Multiple Sclerosis

The top of Kennesaw Mountain

Jeanie and Antonio (Aren't they beautiful?)

Look at that face...(Not a good photo but I had to show his face.)

It was a hectic day in terms of work and I felt the desperate need to embrace nature, specifically the sun. With a little anxiety, I knew just what my Being ordered. I needed to feel my way back to normalcy.

Within minutes, I was headed to Kennesaw Mountain. It was in the 70’s and the weather was perfect for exhaling and healing. There was no music playing in my car and I felt as if the silence was stroking my head with comfort. The idea came to me like a flash of light to the core of who I am. I’m going to ask complete strangers today (inspired by Sunnyboy over at Sunnydaytodaymama) who or what inspires them in honor of Inspirational Monday and what subject they are passionate about in honor of Conscious Friday. I wanted to share the very thing that we are – energy.

On the way up the steep mountain trail, I met Jeanie and Antonio, her beautifully-colored black, gray, white and tan Collie. Gayle over at PlanetMFiles helped bring to present my childhood dog, Lans and then I saw Antonio. That was exciting! Anyway, Jeanie and I shared touching stories of our former pets and connected on the same frequency. During our conversation, she mentioned that she and Antonio recently walked for the fight against Multiple Sclerosis in honor of her friends who have the disease. Please click here to read about the details and effects of this disease.

So, on this Conscious Friday (Se'Lah's creation), I would like to send love, peace, healing and strength to Jeanie and her friends and all of those who are winning the fight against Multiple Sclerosis.

Sending positive energy your way, always!

Love Thursday: Could it be delusion?

I created a link to “Ask Vchelle” in hopes to maybe point some and encourage others on how to accept and process things that we perceive to be challenging or difficult to accept.

My humble aim is to respond to this question, “It’s so increasingly difficult to cope when a spouse is laid off or can’t find work. Any advice for uplifting one’s spirit?”

I have had this challenge first hand and let me tell you, it does take an effort, AT FIRST. I went from blaming to pleading to ignoring and finally, to peace. Do you know that we all judge ourselves sometimes harder than we judge others? That’s right. The reflection of our inner judging may externally appear as down, mean, jealous, weak and yes, sometimes it appears as “happy.” Because of this self-induced judgment, we often adhere to the role that we conjure up within our minds. “I’m nothing, therefore, I’m nothing.”

We do not need to confirm this type of structural belief (thoughts). That’s what our egos and our spouse’s egos want to engage it. Why? We often want to feed our emotional needs. Our thoughts feed our emotions and our emotions feed our thoughts. It becomes a vicious cycle.

So, when our perception of our spouse or partner appears to be opposite of peace and enthusiasm, we simply must allow them space to just BE. In this conscious state, we do not become part of the challenge. A better way to say this is we do not react because we will be the space and the peace in which we allow our spouses to succumb to the peace. Who can say this better than Eckhart Tolle, "Instead of fighting the darkness, you bring in the light. Instead of reacting to the delusion, you see the delusion yet at the same time look through it."

I practice radical forgiveness daily toward myself, toward my husband and my daughter. It is my lifeline to peace. We could only be the catalyst and we must allow our family and friends the space to see, feel and listen to our external peace that comes from within.

Happy Love Thursday!

Sled Hockey

We had a family outing to a hockey game last night, Thrashers vs. Washington "something." As you can tell, I'm not a hockey fan at all. My friend, a Girl Scout leader, gave us free tickets. When asked, my husband and son said why not?

We were all freezing! We sat in the restricted seats bundled watching the hockey game. My daughter and I tossed and turned the entire game. I felt battered from my daughter shifting, climbing and elbowing me. I could not wait to leave!

Then, I noticed little people sliding around the rink on something that looked like a skateboard with ice blades. They were using shorter hockey sticks. It was halftime or timeout or whatever the terminology used for this break in the game. I perked up to watch and listen. They hit the puck in the net a few times. It was cool to watch. They were playing sled hockey, a game for the “disabled” who had no or limited use of their legs. I like to say they are able-with-adjustments. They looked like they were having a blast!

We may have to make adjustments. We may have to travel a different route to get to our ultimate and desired destination. We may have to tweak the norm a bit. But, we do not have to stop. We accept what is and in that knowing, we live! That's Peace!

Loving preparation...

Recently, a friend sent me an email advertisement about a television segment called, “Nightline - Face Off: Does Satan Exist?" For some reason I stopped in my fast-moving, multi-tasking tracks for a few minutes and I thought about this question and then I felt this question. My thoughts were, I don’t know and I don’t think Satan exist for me. Then, I breathed deeply and felt peace, love, kindness and excitement!

I wondered why we allow such fear to drive our potential behavior. I wondered why do we not allow love, peace and stillness to drive our potential behavior. My friend said we have to watch for the sign posts on the road. “Forewarned is forearmed.” Could it be possible that what we look for we experience?

I’ve come to my own personal conclusion, join me if you like, that my path to healing – my path to peace – my path to God, I want it be a beautiful and peaceful journey of Stillness. As I previously expressed, no-thing cannot exist without space (stillness). I want to practice focusing and feeling the space and hearing the silence.

I know this sounds cliché, but the moon, the stars, the millions of galaxies and planets cannot exist with out “space.” I’m referring to the space that our astronauts fly to. I’m referring to the space that holds our homes, our cars, our vast stores, our amusement parks, our trees and the animals that roam the beautiful grounds of this earth. I’m referring to the space that holds Earth itself. I’m referring to the space that holds us. It is one space.

Try to listen and focus on the space, silence and stillness within. It is also externally loud, strong, and beautiful and it is the one thing that we have and all are connected to! We have an incredible amount of space to love. That’s a powerful and extraordinary concept to accept, I know.

So, another way to be forearmed (prepared) is to look for great and loving things to happen. Therefore, great and loving things will and do happen. That’s God!

Inspirational Monday: Journey to friendship...

We have both written about my sister Doris. We both love and miss her essence more than words can express. After my sister’s spirit transcended, I really don’t recall meeting her or anyone else for that matter during the week leading up to Doris’ “celebration-of-life” service. Most events were a complete fog to me. I sometimes wondered if the fog wasn’t there, would I have made it through such a shaky period of my life.

Then one day, she called. I listened to her explanation for calling me (as if she needed one). The minute I heard her words, “I need closure,” my Being knew that she was to help me as I was to help her. I don’t remember much of our conversation afterwards, but I felt her strong, assertive, loving and passionate Presence. She valued not just the opportunity to talk with me, but she LEAPED at the opportunity to help me heal physically.

The inspiration I receive and digest from her is pure and sincere. She often encourages me and inspires me to go deeper into the veins of life in order to share my triumphs with you.

All of you in blogsphere know her as Se’Lah. I know her as determination, perseverance, compassionate with rapid-moving love and a deep sense of kindness. She is my friend and I’m simply inspired by all that she is…

Even though we no longer can see Doris, I know that she is the angel that kissed our lives on this long and beautiful journey to friendship. I am so grateful to our Creator for allowing Doris to be the angel of this communion.

Who or what inspires you?

One love… Happy Inspirational Monday!

Se'Lah, thank you for listening to your heart. Enjoy!

Conscious Friday: Treat yourself to peace...

I didn’t have specific plans. I didn’t have nor wanted a birthday cake. I am so excited because what I did have for my birthday was happiness, love and a boat load of friends and family calling me, singing to me and of course writing to me in blogsphere. I began receiving phone calls at 6 am and received my last call at 9 pm and I also received voicemail messages from friends all day long. I sent the invitation for ALL to share my birth-day with me. Yes, it was a glorious day!

By the way, shyness is not my forte. I wanted to shout it from the mountain top, “Hey, I’m here. I was born into this fantastic world at six months because I AM excited to be here.” To acknowledge the beauty of all life is wonderful, but to FEEL the power of life takes such an extraordinary effort. The effort is extraordinary because it is so, so simple. All we have to do is just BE.

So, on Conscious Friday I invite you to allow yourself to be showered with beauty, love and peace. “The word enthusiasm comes from ancient Greek—en and theos, meaning God.” With enthusiasm, tell someone something that you’ve accomplished. With enthusiasm, tell someone something that you secretly want to accomplish. Then allow that person to congratulate you, encourage you and BE in the present moment with you. It could be your spouse, your child, your co-worker, your parent or someone you don’t even know. You deserve the attention, the love, the support, the happiness and the joy! Accept it! Don’t think about anything; just stay with the present moment and allow the energy from you both to connect into that main and ultimate high-level frequency - that’s Presence - that’s Peace. That’s God!!!

Look at the Earth Song video below. All of these events are manifested by one life - one love. We have and are the same.

Conscious Friday came from the consciousness of Se'Lah from Necessary Room.

Love Thursday: It's my birthday..

I am blessed with the opportunity to see 43 years today! Yes, I know I'm a Spring chicken (smile). Not only am I grateful to see the day I entered into this luscious world, but I'm so thankful that I am HEALTHY and feel wonderful. What's different? I'm sharing it all with you in blogsphere.

My husband gave me these flowers last week while I was battling the flu. Aren't they beautiful? That's love...

Happy Love Thursday!

P.S. That's my sister Doris in the photo. I know she's looking down on me saying Happy Birthday sis!

Jannah's thought of the day...

It's too late, she has been bit by the "positive" bug. Truly following her mother's footsteps, my child wanted to send her message of peace. Impressed with her photo posted on Mommy's blog she said, "Let's talk about flowers and stuff, mommy." So, after like souls came together, this video (see below) is what we agreed upon.

We had a blast listening to songs WAY past her bedtime last night. It was so worth it. Our hug before bed was just a little bit more special. Take a listen and see if this song/video doesn't tickle you inside.

Isn't it beautiful to see how fearless and optimisic our children are?

Jannah sends you joy today! Sending positive energy your way, always!

P.S. Another photo of Jannah - Enjoy!
