Lovin Ms. J!

She loves to sing

She loves to dance

Her eyes tell what she is feeling within

She is strong and yet meek as a lamb

She is silly and yet the pain of others she understands

She hides her face from violence but she goes boldly towards peace

Her name is Ms. Jannah

I'm soaking in all of her lovin!

She takes photos all day, everyday!

Speaking of letting your light shine...

I know I keep referencing the wonderful cruise that my family and I enjoyed so much. I can't help myself. I hope to stay on this high as long as I can. And it's so easy to talk about it because there are so many incredible dimensions to share about this valuable time of peace and relaxation. Today, I present "her" to you. She was a celebrity. I heard whispers, "That's the little girl. That's the little girl who danced last night. The diva had arrived!

She danced!

...And she danced! I know you see the light.

When she saw these two gentlemen, she jumped right in. She sang!

She slept...

Inspirational Monday: A wave of inspiration

Gracepoint Church hosted a block party for a few subdivisions in our community this past Saturday to introduce themselves, offer fellowship and to get a chance to meet all the communities in the area where they worship. As you know, Jannah, my nieces and I love to get out and meet and greet beautiful souls with anticipation that we will and they will be delighted in joy! We like presence with a purpose to celebrate with smiles and share love. We did just that!

I love witnessing the level of expectation when visiting events like this because everyone expects a smile, a touch, a hug, laughter, good thoughts, great feelings and most importantly, peace. And the most incredible feeling about this expectation is that we are complete strangers wanting and desiring to express peace, love and appreciation. That's awesome!

We attract what we are.

From the fantastic inspirational band that really touched my Being to the warm souls that greeted each child with a sincere smile while creating animal balloons, making ice cones, serving food, guiding their fun on the water slide and inflatable ballon, Gracepoint Church created such a wave of inspiration. Some call it a slogan, but I call it their aim, Gracepointe Church, "where you belong," is a body of love, hope, faith and beautiful intentions. We all deserve to belong! How can I not visit?

Take a look at the photos below and feel the joy! Special shout out to Kay. Hi Kay! She pulled up chairs for my nieces to sit and enjoy the inspirational band with her without saying a word. She just did it. Her son was in the band. We began to share and I guess our energies were beating strong because Jannah grabbed the camera from me and took our picture! Kay is such a warm and sweet Being!

Who or what inspires you?

Happy Inspirational Monday!

Weekend Concept: Jannah says Hola!

From Progresso, Mexico, Jannah smiles in a sombrero. We had just docked in Progresso and was greeted by the calm waters, beautiful colors and colorful souls. I noticed that Jannah smiled in awe....

At this particular stop, I remember feeling alive. Jannah's smile came through her eyes, her cheeks, her arms, her entire Being. I felt her energy and I think her energy was so strong at this moment because my vibrational frequency had begun to rise.

It's challenging sometimes but we have permission to enjoy every aspect of our lives and how we take advantage of this magnicifent universe is to consume as much of the present moment as we can - deeply feel it - devour it - digest it. It's all about the energy!

It's about loving, forgiving and sharing! It's all about you! Hola!

Happy Weekend-ing!

Inspirational Monday: Waterflow of dreams...

I decided to take my daughter, nieces and nephew to the city for a change of scenery mostly for me. I knew that being in the sun would be so refreshing and healing. So, we went to Atlanta's Olympic Park. The kids splashed in the water fountains and I heard laughter everywhere. It was indeed healing.

Both photos are of the water show where all the kids had to leave the area so that the water could dance to the music. It was actually pretty cool.

Jannah turned around before she jumped back into the fun and said, "Mommy, take my picture." It was so much fun looking at the kids play, smile, laugh and scream with such delight. I smiled and realized that water is so powerful and the kids practiced every idea they dreamed of to play with those foutains. They covered the fountains with their feet, hands, bottoms, stomachs and faces. You name it, they did it.

See Jannah make believe that she was Beyonce on the Olympic Park's stage. She danced and sang like her audience of four were thousands. It was a blast to watch her.

The kids had played and dreamed of so much fun and their dream came true. They were tired and were ready to go. I was inspired by all the kids and how they just played until they were exhausted in their waterflow of dreams.

Who or what inspires you?

Inspirational Monday: Witnessing Presence...

I’ve never taken Jannah to the hair stylist with me before and I knew I would be there for at least a couple of hours. A little concerned she would be bored, I checked her too-big florescent pink plastic purse that she adores, which is really a beach bag. She had her Leapster game, coloring books, pencils and a few of what I call her on-to-go books.

We arrived to the salon on time and she was mesmerized by the place. “What’s this, what’s that?” I answered her. All her questions stopped when a little girl with such an angelic face wearing brown and aqua blue colors walked through the hanging beads that separated the waiting room from where the hair stylists worked their magic. Jannah stopped in her tracks physically right in the middle of her sentence and the little girl stood the same. They stared at each other with bright unquestionable eyes, surprised to see each other. It was such an inspiration to witness their little souls connecting right before my eyes. It felt like minutes before the little girl waved her hand to say hi to Jannah. Jannah smiled and waved back. My hair stylist called my name and I walked through the same beads reminding Jannah to come along. They walked side-by-side and the friendship had begun just like that!

The little girl was the daughter of another hair stylist and she was so thankful her daughter was blessed with a playmate even if it was just for a couple of hours. They played quietly coloring, talking, smiling and of course playing the game, “Can you do this? Can you do that?” By the time I was under the hair dyer, they were holding hands, dancing and very present with each other. One fell, the other helped to pick her up. They shared their toys and their ideas and they did without judgment, without stipulations and without fear.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to meet someone for the first time as adults and go back to being able to just hug them and hold hands just because we both deserve it? Wouldn’t it be extraordinary for us to just stare at each other upon our energy connecting without fear of judgment, being used or recognized not by the clothes, shoes or hair styles but by the content of our BEING?

There is no need to find out the answers to our questions upon meeting someone for the first time “because if we listen carefully, we will hear,” words of Bob Marley. Shall we listen with our presence as children do? Shall we accept the flow of energy and witness the beauty of why we are here in this fascinating place?

Who are what inspires you?

Sending you ever-flowing positive energy without judgment or fear, but with sincere appreciation and love.

Happy Inspirational Monday!

A perfect energy flow...

It was 2:00 am when I arrived at the grocery store. Jannah had a high fever of 103.6. It took all I had to walk out the door to get my baby some things that would help her to feel more comfortable as she struggled with a strep throat. After feeling a little bruised from Jannah climbing and holding on to me for dear life, I became the energized bunny and focused on what she needed.

Leaving Jannah with my adult son, I drove 70 miles per hour pushing the 65 miles per hour speed limit down the dark and really lonely road leading to the grocery store. Deep in anticipation of beating my own expected timeframe of how long I should be away from my daughter, the ding-ding sound made me look at my dashboard. I remembered that I needed gas yesterday. I stopped by the only 24-hour gas station and all the pumps were covered! What???? I prayed and said, "Take me home safely please."

Fast forward to the next day, Jannah and I headed out again to the same grocery store. I was sending so much gratitude out into the universe as I was driving thanking my Creator for blessing my daughter to feel better. Then all of a sudden, my car began to lose power exactly one block from the same gas station I visited at 2:00 am. One problem, I had to make a left turn and then a right turn into the gas station. Could I make it? I began to scream with laughter, "Oh my God Jannah, I think we are about to run out of gas!" She screamed, "Go mommy, go mommy!" In perfect timing, the light turned green and the two cars in front proceeded to go left so I kept pumping the gas pedal. I made that quick left and then pumped the pedal some more and made it into the gas station. I spotted that the outer/end gas pump was available and fixated my energy on it as my car died! We drifted perfectly in front of the gas pump! Jannah and I screamed the entire time with laughter and we cheered and clapped. Jannah said, "Mommy we made it." I said, "Jannah, everything is going to be alright!" She said, "Yep!"

As we drove away from the gas station in smiles, I wondered how many people barely made it to the gas station that day and how many people did not make it. I know that when we put all our energy into succeeding as if there were no other option, we excel!

Gratitude and positive energy from both of us got us to that gas station! Sending you the same to get you to your destination!

Conscious Friday: Children - the little people

Jannah insisted on making me a birthday cake three weeks later when she realized I didn't have one for my birthday.

Jannah the Rasta girl!

Jannah, the musician...

Jannah is such a joy to watch as she sprouts right before our eyes. She definitely has her own strong and loving personality and a special kind of way with words. I can honestly say that as a “wiser parent,” I don’t know if I would have been as in tuned with the beat of my daughter’s soul when I was younger. What comes from her Being surprises me daily and I’m thrilled with the wonderful opportunity to feel her beautiful and powerful presence.

A couple of days ago, she was talking in what I call her “baby” voice and I said to her, “Jannah, why are you talking and acting like a baby?” Keep in mind, I tell her daily that she is my baby. She didn’t answer and stayed in my arms holding me tightly. I felt and heard her heart beat and I’m sure she heard mine. She didn’t answer my question at first, but continued to rub her cheek to mine as she talked about nothing really. I call it jibber jabber. I asked her the question again. She pulled away from our tight embrace looking directly into my eyes and said in her regular voice, “Mommy, I’m not a baby. Babies cry like this, ‘whannnnn, whannnn.’ And babies talk like this, goo, goo, ga, ga.’ Ok?” I simply said ok. We continued with our hug.

My lesson, Jannah is conscious of what she does and most children are. The daily hugs we share mean something differently for both of us. I understand deeply that she wanted to just BE! She could feel and share anyway she wanted to because she feels the unconditional and trusting love that we share. Her “baby” voice is simply her form of affection towards me. Interesting enough, my husband and I share a special “talk” to display our affection. My baby is simply a little person! It’s so amazing! Let’s remember that profound messages of beauty come from these little people! They are consciousness!

The Tea Party!

Oh yes! It was such glorious day at the Renaissance Elementary Girl Scouts Mother & Daughter Tea Treasured Moments. It was a perfect day in terms of weather. Mrs. Barbara (click here to read about her) and her team of explicit organizers did a fantastic job at bringing elegance and sophistication to our tea party. We were all smiles!

When I took Jannah to the ladies room, she and I both were impressed that even it had a touch of class. Jannah said, “Mommy, this bathroom is beautiful – everything in beautiful.” I agreed of course.

From the entertainment to the beautifully presented and tasty food and finally, to the gorgeous mothers and daughters that brought this event to life, it was such an extraordinary day! Again, I am so humbly excited to have been a part of such an event. Beautiful and inviting spirits were everywhere!

So, without further due, I present you the tea party. Enjoy!

The event began with a prelude, welcome address and the Girl Scout Promise and Law were shared. The entertainment kicked off with a ballet dance by the Tayo Reed Academy of Dance. Jannah and I got lost so we missed this dance and she was really disappointed, as she wants to be a ballerina.

Next, a violin and cello selection (sorry for the photo quality)
Miss. Christyn Ashby sang the song "Hero" by Mariah Carey. This little beauty did an excellent job!

J and I at our table. All the little girls received tiaras upon arrival! That was special! We played a game, "How well do you know your daughter and How well do you know your mother." It was too cute!

The next several photos are of the lovely table and food settings. Simply divine!

Sweet poem on a bookmarker...

Sonya and her daughter, Cyiara and Jannah played the game, "How well do you know..."

Jayla, Barbara's daughter, and Jannah - Can't you see the love?

Lovely lady serving tea after we received an explanation of tea and it's orgin followed by a lesson on the proper way to drink tea - notice the white gloves...beautiful!

Sugar with your tea?

Cyiara and Jannah - aren't they precious?

Jasma, Barbara's daughter - she was a big help to her mom and she has such a beautiful presence!

I took my hat for a breather and guess who just had to try it on! She looks adorable!

At the end of the event, all the girls were called up on stage so that we mothers could capture our beautiful daughters looking like princesses!

Jannah played before we left - She felt so free!

After our exciting day, we were ready to relax!

Thanks for stopping by! I feel your presence!
